My work focuses on translating complex, global issues into human-centered stories that invite curiosity, empathy, and action. I’ve told stories through video, writing, and visual art for nonprofits and community-based organizations working across international contexts, always with an emphasis on ethical, solutions-focused storytelling.
For nearly ten years, I led strategic communications at Plant With Purpose, an international environmental nonprofit working across Africa, Asia, and Latin America. I joined as the organization’s first communications hire, building systems, narratives, and creative output that supported fundraising, brand awareness, and long-term growth. During my tenure, the organization grew from a $4M to $13M annual budget, expanded into new country programs, and scaled its team and donor base.
My work focuses on translating complex environmental and development work, including data-heavy impact reporting, into accessible, emotionally resonant stories that help donors understand both the why and the how behind an organization’s mission. I’ve led digital media teams, supported multi-channel fundraising campaigns, and helped align storytelling with organizational strategy.
I’m especially drawn to work that highlights the relationship between culture, land, and community. I aim to help people understand places not as backdrops, but as living, evolving ecosystems shaped by history and tradition.
My academic background includes graduate degrees in International Studies and Nonprofit Management, as well as specialized training in social impact storytelling.
Outside of my professional work, I’m an illustrator and improviser. Both practices shape how I approach storytelling: with curiosity, adaptability, and a belief that the best ideas emerge through collaboration. I’m also a lifelong traveler, a dad to three, and someone who deeply values cross-cultural exchange.
