It all started when…

I first learned about child soldiers and human trafficking through documentaries I watched in high school. I was unsettled. I didn’t know about NGOs or human rights organizations at the time, but I wanted to be part of putting an end to those things.

I started traveling. First to study abroad in places like Italy and Argentina. Then to help at a children’s home in South Africa and to teach at a refugee camp in Thailand. I interned at this incredible organization called Liberty in North Korea. I fell in love with telling stories about the places I went and the people I met there.

These experiences set the bar high for the setting I wanted to work in. I saw how our world is shaped by the stories we tell. Not wanting to miss my opportunity, I went for my Masters in International Studies and Nonprofit Management at the University of Oregon.

Just as I finished, I joined the Plant With Purpose team.

For the past decade, I’ve had the privilege of traveling the world to the frontlines of climate change. I get to share the stories of communities restoring ecosystems and leading solutions. I’ve been able to tell stories about the church forests of Ethiopia, the hilltribes of Thailand, and eco-villages in Bangladesh. I’ve helped build a platform for rural farmers from nine countries to share their stories in their own words. I helped create a virtual eco-journey to Oaxaca. In 2023, I got to give a TEDx Talk on Storytelling as a Climate Solution, and in 2025, I received a certificate from Georgetown University’s program in Social Impact Storytelling.

Along the way, I married my best friend and then we had three kids in two years. Free time is scarce, but I manage to fill it with some eclectic hobbies: illustration, improv, and even freestyle rap.

My goal is for the stories I tell to open eyes towards solutions for some of the world’s biggest issues. I love working with social change organizations to tell stories that move people. And I love speaking at events and gatherings about creativity and changemaking. If there’s any way I can help you, please reach out!
