Twenty Twelve

As I’m becoming a new dad, you’ll just have to get used to me being all the more nostalgic and sentimental about everything– especially while I go over the highlights of this almost-ending decade.
⠀⠀
2012 was an absurdly eventful year. There were some major things that happened. Like…
⠀⠀
🏝 I graduated from UCSB. The Santa Barbara life I knew and loved for years came to an abrupt end. Fortunately I got to spend my summer around town, enjoying one more hurrah.

🥂This was the year Deanna and I started dating. We were friends for almost three years by now, but we managed to become more-than-friends with just a week before graduating.
⠀⠀
🛣 In the fall, I spent time as a nomad with Liberty In North Korea I lived in a van and traveled to schools and churches across over a dozen states, talking to people about North Korean issues. This experience set the bar so high for what I wanted to do in the future, and it remains one of the coolest things I’ve ever done.
⠀⠀
There were other sweet times. 🍁 A memorable trip to New England. 🌧 A great weekend in Portland. 🗺 International friendships. 🏙 Getting to Chicago over the summer. 🏃‍♀️ Deanna’s second marathon that May. I felt more loved than I ever had before. What a year.
