Took me a touch longer to get into the newer Modest Mouse release, but that’s just cause it takes me longer to connect with an album these days. This one still felt like classic Modest Mouse to me.
Recently finished John Williams’ Stoner… really liked it but also couldn’t put into words right away why. On the surface it was an extremely simple book that just told the life story of a fairly ordinary guy who finds a career in academia. But I guess it is one of those stories that paints the ordinary as dignified and beautiful if you know how to look at it the right way, and I’m into that.
