KESH KESH

A place to keep on your radar: Kesh Kesh in Nairobi. It’s an eclectic hangout/café that occupies three levels. You can use it as a workspace for several hours, but also, they have fantastic Ethiopian food so you can come to feast with a group. And I was actually in the mood for a burger and beer, so they’ve got you taken care of on multiple fronts.

carnivore

Nairobi’s famous AYCE churrascarria. Think of an African take on Fogo de Chao where options include ostrich meatballs, garlic alligator, etc. (They’ve taken the even more exotic stuff like impala and zebra off the menu, thankfully.) Chili lamb sausage was pretty good. Of course, not an everyday sort of place, but had it as a pre-race meal. Running a marathon in Kenya calls for a different sort of fuel.
