This was probably the highlight of my time in New Zealand– the glowworm caves were legitimately breathtaking. I love how these guys are actually the larvae of a fungus gnat species. That’s a lot of unflattering nouns in a row, but they’re actually gorgeous… good work to whoever rebranded the fungus gnats as ‘glowworms.’
